How we handle your privacy
We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles. We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our functions and activities, and we take reasonable steps to keep it accurate, up to date, and secure.
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with trusted service providers who help us operate Hunter, such as hosting, analytics, and payment processing. These providers are bound to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us. We may also disclose information where required by law or to protect our rights, our users, or the public.
Overseas data transfers and AI processing
Hunter uses trusted third-party providers to power its voice and AI features. In particular, we use ElevenLabs for voice and audio processing and Anthropic (the provider of Claude) for AI-generated transcripts and assistance. To deliver these features, call audio and transcripts, which may contain personal information about you or your customers, are processed by these providers on servers located in the United States.
This means that when you use these features, some personal information is disclosed to overseas recipients. In accordance with Australian Privacy Principle 8, we take reasonable steps to ensure these providers handle personal information consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles. This includes putting data processing agreements in place that require them to protect your information, use it only to provide their services to us, and apply appropriate security safeguards.
The main country in which your information may be processed overseas is the United States. We keep the providers we rely on under review and will update this policy if our overseas processing arrangements change.
Data storage and security
Your data is stored on secure, reputable cloud infrastructure. We apply technical and organisational safeguards, including encryption in transit, access controls, and regular backups, to protect against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information using industry-standard practices.
Data retention
We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the service. We may keep certain records for longer where required to meet legal, tax, accounting, or compliance obligations, after which we securely delete or de-identify it.
Your rights
You may request access to the personal information we hold about you and ask us to correct it if it is inaccurate. To make a request, contact us using the details below. If you are not satisfied with how we handle your information, you can lodge a complaint with the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
